Mödling, Hauptstraße 79. - For the summer stays of the years 1818 and 1819, Beethoven chose the so-called "Hafnerhaus", a Renaissance building from the 16th century that belonged to the master stove-fitter Jakob Tuschek (today a memorial). Here he worked on a Piano Sonata ("Hammerklavier"), the Diabelli Variations, the "Mödlinger Tänze" and the Missa solemnis. The musical quotation shows the initial chords of the "Hammerklavier" Piano Sonata No. 29 in B flat major op. 106, which was written between 1817 and 1819.
